Blue Distortion

I was listening to Living on Earth, which is a podcast focused on Sound Journalism. One segment stuck me as very interesting. Much like Macrophotography, I’m sure people have experimented with microrecordings other than David Dunn. But how many is the question? David does microrecordings and has a segment in Living On Earth dealing with a beetle infestation of a piñon tree.

David Dunn, stands nearby at the edge of a grove of needleless, dead gray piñon that look like the backdrop for a Halloween play. Like me, he wears headphones and has a recording machine slung on his shoulder. But the device connected to his recorder is a microphone like none I’ve ever seen.

Four new samples packs have been uploaded to the samples page. Three of these packs are from the JP-8000 and the other, Alien Hihats, is a kit processed out of a lamp squeaking. We will be uploading more JP-8000 samples in the next couple weeks which can be downloaded on the forums.

There have been 4 new samples packs uploaded. The first is available on the samples page, subtraction kit. 2 of the other packs are guitar distortion samples courtesy of Vedus Hate and one heavily processed version of these samples from Recipher. These are available on the forum. You will have to log in.

There have been two new sound sample packs uploaded on the sound samples page, waldorf fuzz and the decimate kit. Also, check out the new song Bloodbath on the Recipher audio page. It is a mix between death metal and electronic noise.

Alright, I switched up the samples page and now it has it’s own category for future development purposes. I have added more free sound samples from the moog modular that are sweeter than a cherry pie with Redi-whip topping.

There are now free samples / resources up on the sound design page. Feel free to use these in your production if you are interested. The samples are from the Emu Modular, Moog Modular, Waldorf Microwave XT and processing through the DP4. There are also some random home recorded samples and drums.
