Tears in the Sahara is a melodic rock band from Tampa, Florida, formed in the summer of 2001. Tears has strived to play creative music that pushes beyond the contemporary pop-rock threshold. Tears in the Sahara’s musical sound is like their names suggests. The word tears signifies the amount of passion that goes into each and piece of music that is crafted by their minds, and the word sahara describes the vastness of their music.

In the daylight hours of the sahara the terrain is bright, full of life, vibrant, and energetic; where as night in the sahara is dark, somber, cold and disonent, both sides of this dark and beautiful scenescape is present in the music that tears produces.

After 3 years, and more than 70 shows, and a half of a year’s downtime, Tears in the Sahara is back and poised to spit in the face of today’s mundane homogeneous pop-rock music scene, and play music with hidden sounds and embedded undertones that stimulate the cognitive side of the brain.
